Morrie Anderson Award

Morrie Anderson Award

What is the Morrie Anderson Award?

This award was established in 2011 in honor of Morrie Anderson, who dedicated more than 12 years of his life to the children and organizations that benefited youth hockey in Great Falls, MT. Morrie was not only a parent, but he volunteered in many other ways, (too many to list), to ensure kids had the opportunity to play a sport that Morrie loved. Morrie passed away in 2010 and in his honor, the Anderson family and Great Falls Amateur Hockey, have established this award in his name. The application is open to any Junior or Senior currently enrolled in High School and also actively participating in the Great Falls Amateur Hockey Association.

The Award will be given on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Number of years of hockey participation
  • Sportsmanship, Leadership and Camaraderie while participating in youth hockey
  • Recommendation of at least one youth hockey coach
  •  Youth Hockey volunteer work and/or volunteer work within your community
  • Evaluation of application and essay submitted by applicant
