GFAHA Annual Meeting

The GFAHA Annual Board Meeting is scheduled for May 11, 2020 through Zoom.  Details for connecting and submitting ballots to be announced.

Elected positions open for the 2020-2021 hockey season are listed below as well as a brief overview of each responsibility as stated from the Bylaws.  All those in attendance will vote for the open voting board positions.  If you have more than one child playing hockey, you will vote for a representative in each of your children’s division (if applicable).  The Board meets typically the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the Crystal Inn.

Elected, voting positions available are as follows (all 2 year terms):

  • President – The President shall be the principal executive officer of the Association and subject to control of the Board, shall in general, supervise and control all business and affairs of the Association.  He/she shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors. He/she may sign with the Secretary or any other proper officer of the Association authorized by the Board, any deeds, mortgages, bond, contracts or other instruments which the Board has authorized to be executed, expect in cases where signing and execution thereof shall be expressly delegated by the Board or by the Bylaws, or by the statute to some other officer or agent of the Association; and in general he/she shall perform all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time. 2 year term.
  • Treasurer – The Treasurer shall have custody of all funds and property of the Association and shall keep full and accurate accounts of receipts and disbursements of all monies received and paid by him/her on behalf of the Association. He/she shall exhibit such books of account and records to any members of the Board upon request and shall render a detailed statement to the Board as often as it shall be required. He/she may sign and endorse checks and other commercial paper on behalf of the Association when counter signed by the President or Vice President. He/she shall perform all duties which are incident to the office of Treasurer of a corporation not for profit under the laws of Montana. He/she may be required to give bond for the faithful discharge of duties. Prior to the Annual meeting and one (1) time annually, the Treasurer shall arrange for a formal audit of the corporate books and shall report the results of such audit at the annual meeting. 2 year term.
  • High School Representative (1) – Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 2 year term. 
  • U14 (Bantam) Representative (1) – Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues.  2 year term.
  • U12 (PeeWee) Representative (1) – Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 2 year term.
  • U10 (Squirt) Representative (2) - Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 2 year term.
  • U8 (Mite) Representative (1) - Attends Board meetings and relays important information from the Board to the team manager, coaches, and parents. Also is the point of contact for any division parent or coach who would like the Board to discuss any concerns or issues. 2 year term.

There are also a number of committee and non-voting board member positions available. If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please let Willow know by May 4, 2020.  Your information  will be provided to the President so that he/she can contact you and discuss the position responsibilities and appointment.

  • Registrar (1) 
  • Fundraising Chair (shared with another current board member)
  • Ice Scheduler (1)
  • Great Falls Community Ice Foundation Rep (usually filled by President)
  • Coaches Committee (at least 1 representative from each age division)
  • MAHA Representative (1)
  • Referee Representative (1)

There are several board members who have been part of the board for many years and our players will soon be done so we would like to mentor new members to continue the success of the Great Falls Amateur Hockey Association!
