Girls, we have something amazing and new this season!! GFAHA is excited to announce our first 19U Girls' Team!! This team is for girls born between 2012 and 2003 that are also participating in a GFAHA Travel Team or the GFAHA House League. This will be an additional team on top of regular season teams, and the regular season games will remain the priority. This is a non-checking league and the cost for this program is $250 for the whole season. It is a great deal for extra ice time and the chance to play on a girls-only team! If you have any addition questions about the program, please reach out to Andrea Hedges at email@example.com
The next GFAHA board meeting is on December 12th at 6:30pm at Opportunities Bank on River Dr. S.
A little house keeping and some information to get out to all of your groups. Please provide the communications to each group.
Locker room assignments: Ice Plex has a locker assignments for each group for their practice/game times. Please dress in your assigned locker rooms. We do not need players spread out all over the place. Each age group and/or user group is entitled to their own room. Thanks for your understanding. Also, this could be different from week to week. Also, leave these locker rooms better then you found them. Meaning all garbage yours or not please pick up before leaving for the night. Over filled garbage cans, filthy bathrooms, beer cans and situations that are obviously unacceptable should be reported to team managers and from mangers to the board reps and will be handled by Mike Pancich, President and Ice Plex rep.
GFAHA Goalie gear: There will be some of the organizations goalie gear showing up in the hallway in top of the lockers. This goalie gear is for everyone to use and share. This means the gear will be put back after every practice. This gear will not leave the rink. Coaches and mangers will communicate the need for this gear with the equipment manager, Ty Hoffman, games home and away.
Coaches: GFAHA offers and has offered reimbursement for coaches certification expenses. And additionally non parent coaches some other reimbursement opportunities. Please reach out to your age specific rep for details on reimbursement. Reimbursement for certifications are issued at the end of each season per board approval. Non parent reimbursement can be done monthly provided the appropriate documents and information. If you were unaware of this in the past I apologize it now you know. This is up to you to take advantage of not someone else’s. Also, all of our policies and bylaws are available to everyone.
Lastly, with games starting a quick reminder of our obligation to be respectful role models and to act like adults while we host other teams or are visitors of other facilities. Please remember that the idea is to do our part to provide a safe and healthy environment for players, refs, coaches, parents, staff and etc!
Thank you all for your assistance with these items but more so for your involvement, big and small, in our organization! As always feel free to reach out with any questions and concerns.
M. Pancich, GFAHA President
